The Pros and Cons of Pay Per Click Marketing
Are you considering whether to run a pay per click marketing campaign for you company? Maybe though you are not quit sure what you might be getting into. Then it is in your best interests to know both the pros and cons that come with such a campaign.
With any type of business idea a person likes to look at the benefits first because they want to see the positive side. So that is the place to start. What exactly are the pros of running a pay per click campaign for your business and product.
1. Anyone can do it. Pay per click marketing can be used by anyone. You do not necessarily need deep pockets to get started. Yes you need some start up funds. But you get to set your own budget. Whether it is a $100 or $500 or $5000 you get to determine the amount of money you want to spend. You have the control instead of someone else. Pay per click marketing is available to everyone. And you do not need to be a genius to get started.
2. The results of a pay per click campaign can usually be seen immediately. It does not take weeks or months to know whether your campaign has been successful. You are able to track the results of your campaign as it is happening. This gives you the ability to make quick decisions about your campaign as well. If your campaign is going well you can increase your budget and if not you can cut back. You’ll know how to react when it matters instead of after it is too late.
3. Your website doesn’t need to follow all the SEO rules. Organic search engine results rely on websites being well optimized. But with a pay per click campaign you are buying placement at the top of the search engine results page. You get to automatically go to the head of the class.

4. You can bid on any keyword or phrase that you want. Most businesses and products have all sorts of keywords related to it. And you can have a piece of as many as you would like for a price. All you need to do is keep your bidding competitive.
So now that you know what some of the pros are it is important to know a few of the cons as well.
1. Pay per click fraud. Not every visitor received is a legitimate prospect. Some clicks may come from competitors that are looking to cost you money. It does happen at times. So it is important that you take the time to analyze your click traffic periodically. That way you might spot illegitimate clicks. If this does happen and you can prove it you can often get your money back.
2. Effective pay per click advertising can be expensive over the long run. And you have to spend the time tracking your campaign so that your costs do not get out of hand. You can easily lose thousands if you think you are going to set up a campaign that will run itself.
3. You have to pay the bill each month. If you don’t your campaign can get cut off. Once again this emphasizes the point of active management being needed. Having the time and resources set aside before you begin is important to a successful campaign.
Pay per click marketing has been the single biggest breakthrough in advertising since the invention of the TV. The dollars being spent on this form of advertising are only getting bigger each year. If you need to reach a large audience and the internet has the single largest audience you are ever going to find then pay per click marketing might be right for you.

What do you see as possible pros and cons of PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii to watch vids and play next-gen games?
I want to network a game console into an existing network so that we can watch media (avi, xvid, divx etc) on the television in the living room and play next gen video games. (I don’t plan on playing "illegal" games or playing mmos with cheats)
I’ve been looking stuff up online and I came up with a list of Drawbacks and Advantages for each of the three consoles.
Advantages:
Xbox has Halo, the Orange Box, and probably Portal 2 when/if it is ever released and if I get one it will be one that can play Xbox regular games too so I will have new access to a wider range of games and it’s easily network-able you can even stream video over the network especially if you do it via hard wire. It has USB drive to which a Hard Drive can be connected making it almost limitless expandability as far as storage goes if you don’t want to stream content.
PS3 has Katamari Forever which I will be honest is way more tempting than it should be. It also has the built in Blue-Ray player which is apparently better than any stand alone one on the market according to it’s fans. It also can be modded fairly easily and Sony shows you how to do alot of it so I assume they won’t get pissy about a mod and claim you’ve violated user agreements.
Wii has the updated old school Nintendo games which I do really want to play. Streaming video from the network pc seems to be very Point and Click.
Disadvantages I have seen:
Xbox 360 likes to die and if MS thinks you might be playing hacked games you can get banned from internet usage on that system for life. In order to use it in a network you have to be running a specific version of windows (XP Media Center Edition) and not all routers work (ours is a Linksys WRT54G V8 and isn’t specifically listed as compatible on the Xbox website)
PS3 I have 2 PS2s and there’s nothing special games wise to PS3 other than the posibility of more Katamaris and maybe the output issue (apparently the output isn’t as high quality as some would like.. but this may have been with earlier models) I already have a blue ray player built into to a computer and since I don’t even own any Blue Rays yet it seems silly to buy a second player.
The Wii has those rediculous controllers, maybe it’s cause I’m not old enough to be traditional controller retarded (or unskilled if we’re being PC) but I am old enough to have spent my formative years trying NOT to shake the controller at a the TV like a frustrated monkey while playing, or maybe I just need to get used to them but my first instinct is no to want something with more sensible controlers. I have all the older Nintendo Consoles so there aren’t really any games I want for Wii that I don’t already have at least one version of already.
Each time I start research on a console I get convinced the one I am researching is the one I want to get then I read up on the next one and get convinced THATs the one I want.
Does anyone know of any other cool features I have over looked or major disadvantages to any of these consoles? (not specific games available unless they’re Katamaris or Portals)
Xbox only does 720p and most online stuff requires paying
all PS3s do full 1080p HD picture and sound. It also has The Orange Box. I have used mine for a wireless media center for my TV and works great. I can stream files straight from my computer.
Wii has very low quality video but some games can be fun. Great games are few and far between though.
